A Message from the President
From the mill, to the yard, on the jobsite, and in the structure; MSR lumber is known for its quality and consistency. These attributes have bubbled to the top heading into 2012. The talk about visually graded lumber and changing design values has increased the interest in MSR and MEL dramatically.
Looking back at 2011, our association has made good forward progress.
Still going strong after almost two decades, our annual Production Survey started the year off with a little good news, a slight upward trend in production from 2009 to 2010. We expect to see more movement in a positive direction as the 2011 survey gets underway.
This summer’s preparations for our educational presentation at BCMC paid dividends; our session was a hit and we were able to share timely information with our audience. As in years past, we had a booth and our member volunteers spent quality face time with component manufacturers.
This fall, calls and emails to the Council are up as many customers look to our membership list to locate suppliers. As always, we assured them that they can be confident in the strength, performance and stable design values that MSR and MEL lumber provide.
Looking forward, we have several projects in the works to increase the value and benefits you receive as a member of the MSRLPC. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates.
Thanks for your continued support and allowing me to serve as your President for another year. From my family to yours, best wishes for the holiday season and a prosperous new year.
Regards,
Dan Uskoski
2012 President, MSR Lumber Producers Council
