A Message from the President
Greetings from the Palouse and thank you all for the opportunity to serve this Council as President. As we bring 2009 to a close and look forward to 2010, several items stand out as examples of the good work our association has accomplished and can accomplish in the future.
The Best of 2009
- MSR Council Matters – Our monthly newsletter kept everyone abreast of our Council activities throughout the year. From Board meeting updates to frequently asked questions, it has become a valuable communication tool.
- BCMC – With your support, we returned to the Building Component Manufacturers Conference in Phoenix, AZ, keeping in touch with our customers and providing an excellent new brochure to market our products to potential customers.
- MSR Quick Polls and Focus Groups – Taking advantage of the latest communication technologies, we began collecting feedback in real time from members and customers to provide more information and to facilitate informed decision making.
Looking Forward to 2010 and Beyond
- MSR Annual Production Survey – Especially in a challenging year, our annual production survey allows us to keep our fingers on the pulse of the industry and evaluate our own business decisions.
- Marketing Proposals – Our Marketing Committee is working hard to secure market development funding, demonstrating our drive and determination to grow our association and MSR lumber use in the coming years.
- Annual Workshops – Our customers are asking us to bring back the Workshop! We’ll see how 2010 unfolds and work toward planning a workshop in the future.
Most importantly, as we enter 2010, I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the MSR Lumber Producers Council. Your active participation is essential to the continued effectiveness of our organization. Please contact a Board member or MSR staff with your questions, comments and/or suggestions. We look forward to hearing more from you in 2010!
Regards,
Dan Uskoski
